What is Comfort Dog Ministry?
Lutheran Church Charities, K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry is a national human-care ministry embracing the unique, calming nature and skills of purebred Golden Retrievers.
Comfort Dogs are a bridge for compassionate ministry about faith and creating opportunities to share the love of Jesus Christ.
Our Comfort Dog - Meshach
Meshach arrived at Peace Lutheran in 2024. He’s spent over 2000 hours in high-level training since he was 8 weeks old. Meshach can perform specific tasks as required during his visits, to have the best experience for people needing comfort and care.
Meshach interacts regularly with people in the Grand Island area. He’s built relationships with First Responders, firefighters, 911 Dispatchers and State Patrol. He visits schools, churches and also attends a variety of events in the Grand Island area. During a crisis situation, Meshach may deploy to bring comfort to a hurting community.
