|LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT|
|Over the last 20 years, I have often pointed to my belief that there would come a point in time, wherein the freedoms of the church toward the proclamation of the Gospel would come under attack/persecution.|
That time has come!
I want you to imagine an America where a Church such as your own might come under penalty simply for retaining its' Biblical belief that marriage is an institution created by God and ordained between a man and a woman.
Imagine a school, such as Trinity Lutheran or Heartland Lutheran being required to permit transgendered males to share locker room space with females.
Impossible, you say?
Then, I urge to to become familiar with the Equality Act that has been passed by Congress and now stands before the Senate. In it you will learn that the scenarios above are not only possible, but probable.
So, what can you do?
I believe that there are times in history where it is not possible for us as followers of Jesus to remain silent. As Christian citizens it is critical for us to become aware of any legislation that would limit the churches' freedom to proclaim the Gospel. This IS the case where the Equality Act is concerned.
I am asking you to take time to write both of our Senators, Deb Fischer and Ben Sasse and express your opinion regarding this Act. I am making this as simple as possible for you.
Please take time for this. Never before, in the course of my lifetime has the Church and its freedoms been more subject to attack.
